Pretoria, South Africa, 25 June 2024: New Defender OCTA will make its global dynamic debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed on 11-14 July: the fastest Defender yet to have tackled the famous hillclimb on the Duke of Richmond’s West Sussex estate.

The V8 Twin Turbo-powered high-performance all-terrain hero will be unleashed on the 1.16-mile course just one week after its 3 July global reveal. Visitors to Goodwood will get a glimpse of its extreme all-terrain performance, including the outstanding body control enabled by its clever 6D Dynamics suspension technology.

By contrast, a calm, luxurious stand in the heart of the energetic festival, will have dedicated spaces showcasing the distinct personalities of each of the four British brands: Defender, Range Rover, Discovery and Jaguar.

The Defender space will exude tough luxury. In addition to getting up close to new Defender OCTA, guests will be able to see other models including the new 110 Sedona Edition and a classic Defender 110.

Guests of all ages can experience Defender first-hand. The Defender off-road experience showcases the all-terrain capability of the original British 4x4, on a purpose-built obstacle course. Passengers will get a gravity-defying experience they’ll never forget – Goodwood ticket holders will be invited to book their space via the ‘Plan Your Day’ email which will be sent around two weeks ahead of the event. For younger guests aged between four and ten years old, mini-Defenders are also available for ride-on experiences on a purpose-built course, with no booking required.

Range Rover’s space will be a tranquil one. Vehicles on show will include the exclusive Range Rover SV Burford Edition, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque, as well as an example of the original Range Rover launched in 1970. The high-performance flagship Range Rover Sport SV will be in action on the hill.

Discovery will once again provide a relaxed space for families, with variants of the Discovery and Discovery Sport on display, as well as an example of the original Discovery from 1989.

As Jaguar approaches its all-electric future, the brand is celebrating 75 years of Jaguar sports cars and 90 years of pioneering design, performance and innovation. The Jaguar space at Festival of Speed will feature an immersive film highlighting its storied history. Reinforcing this celebration, Jaguar Classic will show one of 12 restored and uprated, racing-inspired, E-type ZP Editions, while the 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours-winning XJR-9 LM from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust will be driven on the hillclimb.

Jaguar TCS Racing will demonstrate an all-electric Formula E racecar on the hill climb on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July – a week before the final race of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season in London.
