The Kyalami Corner shopping centre in Midrand doesn’t only serve the community surrounding it with a great retail experience, but also aims to support some of the worthy organisations in its midst.
Kicking off 2022, Kyalami Corner, with the help of our loyal shoppers, was thrilled to contribute books and stationery for donation to two such NPOs.
Based in Johannesburg, but serving the residents of the greater Joburg area, as well as Soweto, HospiceWits is a palliative care provider that offers a range of psychosocial services to patients suffering from life-limiting illness. On 3 February, Kyalami Corner was privileged to hand over 10 boxes of books, donated by shoppers and by Bargain Books, to HospiceWits. This amounts to approximately R30 000 worth of books, which we hope will serve the needs of this non-profit organisation and those of its patients.
This followed an earlier donation on 28 January from Kyalami Corner to the Tshwaranang Orphan and Vulnerable Children centre in Kaalfontein, which cares for roughly 400 children between 7 and 21 years from disadvantaged areas in Midrand. Kyalami Corner was thrilled to help this organisation fulfil the educational needs of the kids in its care by donating a range of stationery, worth almost R6000 (raised from cash donations made by shoppers), along with 15 boxes of children’s books.
Kyalami Corner believes in uplifting those who are most vulnerable in our community, and is grateful for the opportunity to offer support to HospiceWits and the Tshwaranang Orphan and Vulnerable Children centre.
